Lynda Covello Jazz Vocalist
Singing has been a lifelong passion for Lynda Covello, beginning with the rich and varied musical environment of her childhood. A grandfather who taught her arias, a father who taught her popular songs and jazz vocals, and piano studies from an early age formed her musical sensibilities.  She has sung in everything from children's competitive choirs to rock bands. Most recently, Lynda has studied with Rita di Ghent in Toronto and Cavell Music Studios in Philadelphia.

Lynda currently performs with:

Lynda Covello Band jazz trio, performing classic jazz standards in an elegant style, featuring Mark Kieswetter on piano & Ross MacIntyre on bass;

Lynda Covello's Deep Dark Secrets Jazz & Blues Band, performing an edgier mix of jazz & blues , featuring Lynda on vocals, Tony Quarrington on guitar & vocals, Amanda Tosoff on piano, Jordan O'Connor on bass and Ian MacIllivray on trumpet & vocals; and,

Lynda Covello & Swing Daddy! ,  a good-time party band performing upbeat jazz swing, featuring Lynda on vocals, George Grosman on guitar & vocals, Ian MacIllivray on trumpet & vocals and Zoe Guigueno on bass.
Lynda chooses to sing jazz & blues because these genres express the full range of human emotion and experience. Playing jazz & blues is a conversation amongst musicians that is always fresh. Every night, the musical collaboration is different, even if the songs remain the same.
Influences include Sarah Vaughan, Billie Holiday, Carmen McCrae, Ella Fitzgerald, Peggy Lee, Chet Baker, Tony Bennett, Louis Armstrong, Stan Getz, Antonio Carlos Jobim, Louis Armstrong, Miles Davis, Coleman Hawkins, T-Bone Walker...
